Changes to the College Basketball Recruiting Calendar have minimal impact on Kansas

Kansas college basketball coach Bill Sell recently classified the recruiting landscape as "an inappropriate science."

And by the end of May, it will probably stay that way.

The NCAA basketball extended the deadline to 31 May last week, after initially announcing a hiring appointment on April 15 to adjust for the COVID-19 epidemic.

This means there is no personal contact for coaches and recruiters until at least June 5.

The NCAA basketball said in a statement, "The Division I Council Coordination Committee and Second Division Administrative Committee have extended the appointment deadline between May 7. "Committees will continue to instruct experts to determine if the date needs to be extended."

This does not prevent coaches from interacting with prospects through the phone, the Internet, or social media channels, but does not prevent them from visiting campus or bringing in players.

College basketball recruiting: And to make those images a challenge for different programs across multiple sports, Selfie's Jayhawks are in better shape than most.

Four players from Kansas have already signed on to the recruiting class of 2020 and said there are 13 scholarships to go in the offseason.

The self told the Journal-World on Thursday, "It doesn't really affect us" Self "What we're doing at the moment is basically 2,220 and a little 2,022.

Despite not being strong enough in the stained programs to meet the new specification, the steady-new transfer portal has added another bite to the equation.

"I think a lot of juggling things are going to happen here (because of that)," Self said.

The transfer market, which seems to grow dozens of times each year, and according to Jeff Goodman of the stadium, which currently has 650 players this year, nowadays has a 7-foot-3 senior center.

But do not expect that Purdue Matt Harms will join the Jayhawks.

A graduate with an immediate qualification, Harms quickly became one of the most attractive options for programs across the country when he announced his decision to leave the ballmakers for other opportunities last week.

According to a report from Evan Daniels' 247Sports, more than 20 schools reached Harms shortly after he became available. KU was not one of them.

Harms later said he was interested in more programs and added that it was too early for him to know where he could finish or which school interested him the most.

"I still don't have the whole picture," Harms told Daniels.

It appears the UK did.

With the hopes of supporting senior Udoka Azubuike and Isaiah Moss and sophomore point guard Devon Dotson, the Jayhawks are right at number five in the 2020-2 season.

There are nine returners in the number - Mitch Lightfoot, Marcus Garrett, Ochai Agbaji, David McCormack, Silvio de Sousa, Christian Brown, Tristan Ernuna, Jalen Wilson and Dajuan Harris - Tian Grant-Foster, Bryce Thompson, Giles Throesad, and Jethro Mask.

The April signing period for college basketball will arrive on April 15 and run through May 20. There has been some talk about changing these dates in response to the current health crisis.

To be added to the roster at Harms or any other prospect circle, one of those players has to change his plans. This probably doesn't sound like it, so the KU roster appears to be set for the 2020-21 season.

Beyond that, if Self is more inclined to play the last four keeper lineups, as he has done over the past few seasons, the need for true bigs will be somewhat reduced.

As of today, Lightfoot and De Sousa as seniors of KU, McCormack as juniors, and Muscatine as his truly big men, all including Garrett, Ernuna, and Wilson are capable of playing 4 spots in a small lineup.
